      I should have remembered that.  I certainly remember watching it on live teevee in my grade school classroom as he delivered it, and reading it several times thereafter.

      Anyway, thanks for giving me the reminder.  I'll pull up a copy and underline it.

      And trying to compare GWB's speeches to anything delivered by JFK...  well...  the word futility is insufficient.

        He was amazing on his feet.  I'm a bit older than you, I guess.  I was 12 in 1960.

          And just so you know, I turned 9 on June 8, 1960.

          I had a college media course that used clips from the 1960 debates and several of the JFK news conferences, too.  Pretty amazing stuff.  The image is clear even after all these years.  (College was a long time ago, too.)
