    the APA's direction in ethics regarding the humane treatment of detainees in interrogations.  Realizing that he had failed, he resigned.

    I recall the first article I ever read by Dr. Pope.  It was a study of psychologist sexual abuse of their clients.  It was a solid piece of science, even though the results were saddening:  something like 4% of psychologists admitted (anonymously, of course) that they had been involved in a sexual relationship with one of their clients/patients.
