to follow Obama's lead in respecting my opponents' personal dignity. I've noticed him carefully saying that a statement is incorrect, instead of saying that it was a lie or that the person who made it was wrong or any other number of alternative ways of framing it.

I think that I'm getting better at it, with time and practice. I certainly notice it more and regret it when I diss someone.
