Obama wants the support of Republicans, not their empty votes. He wants them to come on board with his agenda, not cynically vote for him to undermine the Democratic primary process.

the point is, who does he appeal to?
RL is asking people to vote for Hillary who do not support her (if they can "stomach" it)
