Does this make anyone else feel any better about all this?

Obama can handle anything. No one should be feeling negative.

So far Hillary has not weighed in on pastor Wright as far as I know, but I'm not hopeful.

McCain vs. Obama could turn out to  be the first decent presidential campaign we have seen in years - well aside from the third party swiftboating that will inevitably happen.

I have already been sent a photoshopped Obama photo making him look like Osama. I am still debating whether or not to share it with the Kos community. Probably not though. I thinked I would be TR'd back to the stone age. This photo will be making the rounds soon enough anyway.

Neither Charlie Black, cunning Operator that he is (on the same show he slyly slipped in a typical Repug Al Qaeda faux talking point) nor McCain have sprouted halos.

They are thrilled that Donahue's reaction to Hagee and his comments ('Catholic Church= Great Whore, etc.)scrolled off the MSM as quickly as it did, and are scared like Hell it will be coming back to haunt and bedevil them.....BOO!!!

      •  Clinton won't push the Wright story either (0+ / 0-)

she was able to secure endorsements from a large number of African-American preachers in this election and I am sure a few (if not more) of them have their own You Tube moments out there.  She can't really throw them under the bus, so she can't push the story.  My guess is that it dies down relatively soon---and now that it has been raised, hopefully it won't be considered news in the fall.

I started hearing media blowhards and, primarily, anxious progressives and hysterical Hillary fans, promoting this angle, I knew it was nothing, given McCain's pursuit of endorsments by the like of John Hagee ("The Catholic church is the Great Whore, "Jewish brought the holocause on themselves by disobeying god") and Rod Parsley ("Islam is a demon religion responsible for most of the violence in the world," "The constitution needs to be replaced by Boblical law.") McCain believes he needs the evangelical crazies to energize the Bush base. He is in no position to attack Obama for anything his pastor may have said.

and he is showing more respect. The Clinton campaign is a disgrace.

We all have someone we know, a relative or friend who we love, but totally disagree with on so many issues. That does not make them all bad. In fact many of them have other great qualities, but their racism or ignorance can make them intolerable at times.

    •  It actually kind of scares me (0+ / 0-)

It's so... reasonable. Like you said, it almost sounds like it could have come from the Obama campaign.

Did the Republicans actually nominate a candidate who is going to stick to the high road? If true, that means we could end up with a presidential race where both candidates stay classy.

I know I should be excited about this, but something deep inside tells me that the other shoe is going to drop any day now.

(-5.88, -6.46) Democracy is what happens between elections.
