Contacted all the campaigns as part of an effort to stop the use of torture by the United States. The only personal and detailed response was from Obama. There was no evasion or parsing, just a strong and absolute committment to civil rights and the constitution. And a guarantee of no state-sponsored torture under any circumstances.
Not a Cent to those who won't fight torture.

he made around 100-150 calls a day, I remember reading, to ordinary people (well, people his vols had id'd as people who may have influence in their communities--teachers, principals, etc.) and personally asked them to vote for him. If he heard about someone on the fence, he'd call them.
When I read that, I knew he'd win.
Hey, but what do I know?

PLEASE write this up. I knew, early on, he was strong about this, but it's a point we need to stress in the General, esp. with McCain's collapse on the issue.
