Deny and delay are the insurance company business model. Each additional hour a patient waits for the insurance company to cover something is another chance the patient will give up waiting and just pay cash-out-of-pocket for the medication.
You know the old saying, "a dollar saved is a dollar earned" - and the insurance companies take that saying right to the bank every single day.

Don't forget that insurance companies make money by taking the premiums they are paid by costumers and investing that money on Wall St. Even if they know they have to pay, every minute they delay payment means more interest they earn with your money.
