i know we get a bad rap--not diverse enough, too rural, why should we always get to go first, etc.--and i'm not going to defend it. (although as a political junkie, i can say that there will be a cold, dark spot in my soul if/when it changes--i'm selfish that way :)

but i will say that without us this year, i don't think an obama nomination would be a possibility. if we had had a single day of national primaries--an idea i see sometimes proposed--there's no way an unknown like obama could have competed with an institutional powerhouse like clinton. i hope they at least rotate states, or something, so the little guy stands a chance. not all on a single day.

not saying i don't think the system should be changed. just saying i'm proud of us here, and that we chose obama. we took it seriously, and i worked my arse off for him.

glad to see there are good people taking up the fight.
