Obama (or a friendly 527) could make an effective ad out of this, and he could win Pennsylvania, and all of the remaining primary states, putting an end to our suffering.
We have a commander in chief who stretches the truth now, and most Americans recognize the high price we've paid.
And the irony of Clinton using sleep deprivation as an excuse after claiming that she is the one to answer the phone at 3am, is a real gem.

to everyone we know.
And someone with the necessary skills should make a YouTube mashup of ALL of these - simple and to the point.
All of the lies in a short video. Looping and looping.
Ending with the same little girl (an Obama supporter) in bed and a voice-over - "Do you want a sleep-deprived 'mistake-maker' answering the phone at 3 AM?"
We can be sure the Obama campaign WON'T do this because they really have laid off the personal attacks on Hillary. But the netroots community can do it. Hopefully some 537 group will do it as well.
Just my thoughts.
Thank You, Senator Clinton :-)

It's not just that Hillary has taken liberties with the truth. It's that she's taken liberties with the truth on a matter of foreign policy. About a trip taken in the face of war.
Hillary is asking the American public to believe that she's ready from Day One. That when that phone rings at 3 a.m., she's the one with the experience and judgment to do the right thing.
Let's set aside the enormity of the lapse in HRC's judgment evidenced by her vote to give Bush the authority to go to war.
Hillary has now demonstrated that she's willing to exxagerate. To obfuscate. To repackage the key elements of breaking events to fit her version of the truth. To heighten the drama. To lie about events occuring in the face of wartime.
She's telling lies about events occuring in the face of wartime. A trait she shares with her buddy McSame. A trait she shares with GWBush. A trait she shares with Dick Cheney. A trait she shares with Don Rumsfeld.
Hillary has now proven beyond the shadow of a doubt that she is more than willing to lie -- cheerfully -- about events occuring in the face of wartime.
Pair this with her vote to go to war and her "judgment" speaks for itself.
Tie it to the pattern of bald-faced lying by our leadership to push us into military and diplomatic actions we would otherwise never engage in, and Hilllary's lies, delivered with a chuckle, become as sinister as they really are.
Lies in the face of wartime.
Bush did it.
McSame's doing it daily.
HRC just firmly ensconced herself as part of the pack of thieves.
Lies about sniper fire?
No.
Lies about events occuring in the face of wartime.
The cost of the last set of lies occuring in the face of wartime? 4,000 American dead. 500,000 Iraqi civilians. At least $1 trillion.

Meet the Family http://www.theocracywatch.org/secret_theocrats.html
"Christ's kingdom is not a democracy" This is their model for leadership. They would often say, "Everything you need to know about government is right there in the cross - it's vertical not horizontal."
They are really interested in the biblical concept that whether you are good or bad it doesn't matter, what matters is whether you are chosen.
Jesus plus nothing: Undercover among America's secret theocrats http://www.harpers.org/...
There they forge "relationships" beyond the din of vox populi (the Family's leaders consider democracy a manifestation of ungodly pride) and "throw away religion" in favor of the truths of the Family. Declaring God's covenant with the Jews broken, the group's core members call themselves "the new chosen."
"King David," David Coe went on, "liked to do really, really bad things." He chuckled. "Here's this guy who slept with another man's wife—Bathsheba, right?—and then basically murders her husband. And this guy is one of our heroes." David shook his head. "I mean, Jiminy Christmas, God likes this guy! What," he said, "is that all about?" The answer, we discovered, was that King David had been "chosen." To illustrate this point David Coe turned to Beau. "Beau, let's say I hear you raped three little girls. And now here you are at Ivanwald. What would I think of you, Beau?" Beau shrank into the cushions. "Probably that I'm pretty bad?" "No, Beau. I wouldn't. Because I'm not here to judge you. That's not my job. I'm here for only one thing." "Jesus?" Beau said. David smiled and winked.

"That's the way everything in life happens. If you're a person known to be around Jesus, you can go and do anything. And that's who you guys are. When you leave here, you're not only going to know the value of Jesus, you're going to know the people who rule the world. It's about vision. 'Get your vision straight, then relate.' Talk to the people who rule the world, and help them obey. Obey Him.
And if you think any of this sounds familiar but can't quite place it, it may be because some of it mirrors very closely a very secular source.

A second fundamental belief of Strauss’s ancients has to do with their insistence on the need for secrecy and the necessity of lies. In his book Persecution and the Art of Writing, Strauss outlines why secrecy is necessary. He argues that the wise must conceal their views for two reasons – to spare the people’s feelings and to protect the elite from possible reprisals. The people will not be happy to learn that there is only one natural right – the right of the superior to rule over the inferior, the master over the slave, the husband over the wife, and the wise few over the vulgar many. In On Tyranny, Strauss refers to this natural right as the "tyrannical teaching" of his beloved ancients. It is tyrannical in the classic sense of rule above rule or in the absence of law (p. 70). Now, the ancients were determined to keep this tyrannical teaching secret because the people are not likely to tolerate the fact that they are intended for subordination; indeed, they may very well turn their resentment against the superior few. Lies are thus necessary to protect the superior few from the persecution of the vulgar many. The effect of Strauss’s teaching is to convince his acolytes that they are the natural ruling elite and the persecuted few.

It is the world view that concerns me, not whether someone can be shown to be a card carrying member of this or that organization.
But it is this world view that we have seen put into action most obviously and openly these last 7-plus years. It is what allows Cheney to give his "So?" response to public opinion. It is what allows an unashamedly false justification to be given for the war in Iraq and allows that justification to be re-written many times as if it had never been other than the current explanation.
They really don't think we need or more importantly deserve the truth.
Anyone with that perspective is a danger to us and a danger to our democracy.
Sometimes it's not just habit, or personal weakness in times of stress.
Sometimes it is strategy to which they feel entitled because of their belief in their own mission and indispensability.
We don't know enough to answer what it is with Hillary, but based on what we have seen of both Bill and her by now we should know enough now to ask.
Think of the constitution as a levee. Think of our democracy as New Orleans.

Hillary Clinton said that you can't pick your family, but you can pick your pastor. If this is really true, perhaps she has picked her "Family."
I read about Hillary Clinton's affiliation with this group on Firedog Lake this morning.
This article links to the original Mother Jones article
There are some things here that concern me far more than anything Rev. Wright said either in context, or out (as most of those clips were).
Namely this bit from the Huffington Post article pointed to in one of the comments on FDL
Clinton fell in with the Family in 1993, when she joined a Bible study group composed of wives of conservative leaders like Jack Kemp and James Baker. When she ascended to the senate, she was promoted to what Sharlet calls the Family's "most elite cell," the weekly Senate Prayer Breakfast, which included, until his downfall, Virginia's notoriously racist Senator George Allen. This has not been a casual connection for Clinton. She has written of Doug Coe, the Family's publicity-averse leader, that he is "a unique presence in Washington: a genuinely loving spiritual mentor and guide to anyone, regardless of party or faith, who wants to deepen his or her relationship with God." Furthermore, the Family takes credit for some of Clinton's rightward legislative tendencies, including her support for a law guaranteeing "religious freedom" in the workplace, such as for pharmacists who refuse to fill birth control prescriptions and police officers who refuse to guard abortion clinics.

I've always been wary of Hillary Clinton's rightward leanings and I know that she was at one time a Republican. I don't hold being a former Republican against her, but was it a true conversion, or do we have a wolf in sheep's clothing here.
I really want to vote for the Democratic nominee in November, but I wonder just who we will get if somehow that nominee is Hillary Clinton.
