Thanks everyone. I'm not a reclist virgin anymore.
To me, the absolute most important issue ANY of us has, and this nation has, is that we are currently being ruled by a gang of immoral war criminals. -Hornito

I made the newbie error of posting my very first diary at 10 p.m. pacific time and it promptly got swallowed by the darkness. Good on ya. One day it will be my turn!

We are all counting on the work of people like you. I'm so proud of Texas. I'm so proud of the work going on in Pennsylvania. And now getting ready to kick butt in North Carolina. I literally consider you workers to be working to save lives and stop torture, among many, many other things. I can't thank you enough.
I'm really glad you hit the big time at dKos. Now you'll have to get used to people treating you differently cuz you're famous.

worrisome issue. We have a lot of work to do. Hopefully, she will eventually come in, and forcefully endorse and support Obama.

That was a very good, thoughtful diary and all the more reason for this primary to end and end soon - let the healing begin. I would have replied directly to your post, but my account isn't even old enough for me to respond to diaries - I'm more of a virgin that you are (were).

Why does Bill want to see Obama and Hillary throw down? Would BO be that foolish?

as some of the pie fights and KO diaries. That's one Hell of second diary there, snappy.
I think you were able to put into one very well-written and revealing diary what must be happening by the tens or hundreds of thousands all around the country.
What keeps me up at night about the Clinton story is that there were other forces out there that once were their legitimate nemesis; but their self-destruction of late came all at their own hands and they were done in by their own remarks and particularly their attitudes. Nobody likes a sore loser, particularly when they start acting sore long before they actually lose.
It was very hard to watch for those of us who initially held no ill will for either of them but who developed ugly feelings by their reactions.
by snafubar on Thu Mar 27, 2008 at 08:17:01 PM PDT
because your compassionate story shows the reader the way to reconciliation. When I stepped into the political blogosphere a few months back, I wasn't really shocked by the ugliness but I was disturbed that persons self-identifying as supporters of Barack Obama were in the thick of it, apparently unaware of the blatant disconnect between their champion's example and their own rude and reactionary posts. Much of it would have been right at home on a sports fan blog. We all know that the Bush years have been marked by displays of public rudeness from pundits and politicians to the point that we resolved to change channels or turn off the set when people began yelling and talking over one another on "news" shows. Many of us want to restore respect and civility to the political conversation but old habits die hard. As you aptly observe, losing hurts and Sen. Clinton's supporters have been subjected to a lot more of it than those in "the movement." When the tables recently turned on us, we got a taste of defeat and we didn't like it. I view the insults and talking points as vestiges of the old system where the truth isn't a major consideration; it's about pushing people's buttons to get them to act. We view the other side as bad and stupid and feel justified in acting out verbally. We're so used to the old game that a candidate whose words and nonverbals convey that we're intelligent and deserving of respect seems strange and refreshing. People who were ready to condemn Sen. Obama changed their minds as they listened to "the speech." When we rise to that standard of thoughtful, honest and respectful communication in addressing those who disagree with us, we become the change we're hoping for. Right here, right now.
