    if that's what it takes to get them to make up their minds before the convention, it's better than them dithering and handwringing through the summer, but I doubt that will happen.

    Which leads me to the conclusion that rather than conniving and reveling in their power, most superdelegates don't actually want to be in the position of deciding the nomination. There's a lot of responsibility to it, plus they know that it's unavoidable that some large group will be pissed off. I think that's why a lot of them want to wait until the voting is over, so that there are fewer reasons to cry foul or to say they didn't give everyone every possible chance to make their case.

    Barack Obama will only become president if enough people pay attention, so pay attention, dammit!
