The last 1st CD meeting went into executive session.  During that secret meeting (I've been called dirty names for characterizing it that way, but that is what it was!) some strange stuff seems to have gone on.  Here's what the husband of the Chair of our Mathews County Democratic Committee said about me for challenging the whole thing:

Your rantings have reduced
your stature to that of a confused and bitter old man..........Your contribution to our discussions seems to be
limited to complaining about how and why things are done locally or
about some global conspiracy. (If I had a dollar for every time you
uttered "neocon"...)

 As it stands now we are to have a convention in May.  At that time the delegates will get to vote for a candidate or to have no candidate.  There seems to be a faction that wants no candidate and to let Wittman run unopposed.  IMHO even if we do get a candidate the lack of enthusiasm on the part of the leadership gives little room for hope.  If I were Shawn I'd be pissed by it all.
