Horrible thing to wake up to (although it would be all the scarier waking up to it in November!!)
The road to truth is long, and lined the entire way with annoying bastards.

up there at the top?
...
Whazzat you say? It's John McSame McBush?
Huh. Sure looks like Babs to me. Go figure.
LOL
Al Qaeda No. 2: "We don't kill innocents." GW Bush: "We don't torture." How tragic that both statements bring the same snort of disbelief....

but you can't take the Al Rogers out of Sunday Talk.
:-)
Nice to see you, Al. I hope all is well.
Hillary Clinton turned me into a newt. I got better.

..I've got the scars to prove it!
I won a joke telling contest on Howard Stern in 2000. I was on the show about dozen times. He even let me on to scream about Bush in Oct 2000.
by Al Rodgers on Sat Mar 08, 2008 at 09:11:35 PM PDT
Was it one particular joke that won the contest for you, or a series of jokes/rant type thing?
by Trix on Sat Mar 08, 2008 at 09:13:01 PM PDT
hard satire.
you remember, the cretin would always blame the victim. not even call it an accident, but outright attack the fallen, while the family was grieving.

Do you have any mp3s or anything? I'd love to hear them if you do... you can e-mail me via my profile.
I did some stand-up comedy when I was in college (NYU)... I keep thinking about getting back into it.

and they're all unorganized.
this is back in the late 90s. My last appearance was around early 2001. That's how I got my TIVO. That was the prize. They were going for $600 or more when they first came out.
Being in my late 20s, I was ALOT funnier back then - less scar tissue and more boooze.
by Al Rodgers on Sat Mar 08, 2008 at 09:40:02 PM PDT
I'm afraid I might've been funnier back then too... in the mid-late 90s (graduated in 96).
I remember getting a first generation Tivo because I had to work late a lot and I wanted to catch Survivor (the first season)... I was also more pathetic back then, apparently.
by Trix on Sat Mar 08, 2008 at 09:43:51 PM PDT
All I got back then was the little stuffed Tivo mascot. 'Cause that's all I could afford.

why do you prefer PhotoBucket over ImageShack?
I've found ImageShack's interface, and pretty much everything else about it, to be far superior.
And it's also worth noting that PhotoBucket is now owned by News Corp (by way of MySpace).
by Trix on Sat Mar 08, 2008 at 09:09:20 PM PDT
photobucket loads faster. there are times when shack stalls out, even on small files.
plus there are bandwidth issues. if you pay $20 a year, you get unlimited bandwidth on photobucket and you can load videos. I'm not sure if shack has a comparable plan.
Also, it's waaaaaay easier to load video clips on photobucket than youtube.
And I can make nifty slideshows with photobucket.
by Al Rodgers on Sat Mar 08, 2008 at 09:17:29 PM PDT
I've never tried uploading videos to ImageShack... and I know those stalling problems you speak of... it often happens in the mornings... I have a feeling they do some sorta code cleanup (like what happens here between 4-5 am EST) then.
You can make slideshows on ImageShack too, but I think that might be a relatively new feature (I don't remember seeing it in the control panel until a few weeks/months ago).
