West Philly IMO can get an education in this election
by confronting a corrupt tradition. The Obama
campaign is about rising above self-interest.

    •  As one who helped many candidates in the midwest (6+ / 0-)

I have heard about this in the Northeast, but never seen it first hand.  I personally find this type of politicking obscene and disgusting.  It smacks so much of bribery of and by public officials.

Perhaps you city slickers could learn a thing or two from flyover state politics about what real grassroots really means.  ...and they call our caucuses (predominantly a midwestern practice) undemocratic...

the people who get paid are the canvassers going door o door to GOTV as well as doing poll watching and making calls, most if not all of who are cronies of the ward leaders.

It is not going to people to vote, it is the grease of the Party machinery to GOTV, which by the way, we don't need 'cause we've got an army of highly motivated volunteers to get our vote out.

Translation, the only part of this story that matters is that Obama can and will by-pass the HRC backing machine to kick-ass in Philly.
