is that they file a joint tax return. Bill's earnings from lobbying in Colombia are her earnings as well. She loaned her campaign money from this joint pot of money. The ultimate case of lobbyist support, isn't it? In house, literally.
And I have skipped the rest of the diary because it devolved into fake outrage over putative misogyny. The word "giggling" is sexist? Laughing, giggling, cackling--whatever. She avoided giving a serious answer to a very serious question. It should be obvious to all that her own personal response to difficult questions is to laugh, giggle, cackle--whatever you want to call it. Many people do this as a nervous response. If y'all think it's a female trait, have at it. I think it happens to be her own way of deflecting legitimate criticism.

This is so simple. His income is her income, and vice versa.
Ergo, his interests are her interests - particularly since he is a former President and she aspires for the same office!
This simple concept alone - and the complete lack of discussion of it - totally disproves the silly notion that the media has in any way been hard on Hillary.
They have given her a free pass on this and a million other things.

That is the issue here. We can have none of it.

This question is more than very serious in my opinion (for obvious reasons that I stated above).
Her response was what everyone does when they've been caught with their hands in the cookie jar. Hey, I thought Bill was on a very strict diet? What's he doing eating cookies?

I really feel like she could have explained this better and hit it out of the park. We don't know if every single penny of that $5 million dollar loan did not come from Bill's speaking engagements on the behalf of the Colombia free trade agreement, or any other special interests that may have a stake in her candidacy AND the Bill Clinton Foundation donor list.
I think the American people deserve an explanation, and that isn't partisan or Hillary hating to ask for one. If Obama did this same crap and had loaned his campaign $5 million from dubious funds, I would ask him the same questions.
This has been a problem with the campaign since the beginning. Transparency. After eight years of "you listen to me stupid, I' know what's best for you. Don't ask questions!" I want a president who allows me to question his or her motives without resulting to a witch hunt of patriotism.
If this is what this country has come down to, our candidates laughing off serious questions of financial responsibility, then maybe we deserved Dubya's insanity.
