but damn she could scarcely have handled that worse. I cringed.

but it's as close as I've seen her to one - she seemed completely unprepared on how to field that one, which is surprising, since it's been being murmured about for a few days.

Now that I've had some time to digest what I've just seen, I have to say it's really, really bad. I think it might be her equivalent to the "Dean scream" moment. Can you imagine what a reaction like that to an unexpected question would do to her as our nominee in the GE campaign?

which skeleton should we release from the Clinton closet today?
I mean, really, no wonder they want to run against her. With Obama, they have Wright and Rezko, both of which are pretty much flogged into powder by now. With HRC, it's a giant shopping list of trust, corruption, and leadership issues.

this may be Clinton's 'Dean Scream' ... and then it's not. But it is a contender.
Was this the first time she responded to questions about the Colombia goings-on?

and that's exactly why I'm not saying it lightly. I think this one is bad, especially given the particular subject involved.

The laugh meant she avoided both - and both are landmines.

under the terms of John Heinz's estate, was not a joint asset, therefore Kerry couldn't legally use it. The Clintons have filed jointly since 2000; legally what's his is hers.

That is what a politician looks like melting down. It's not a shooting spree or even a shouting match. It's that.
Flabbergasted, flailing, ham-handed unpreparedness.
That's what a political meltdown looks like in the context of a press briefing.
Yes, if it's Bobby Knight it looks different. But Bobby Knight is not a statesman or diplomat.

on what "meltdown" means to you. To me it's closer to bawling uncontrollably, or going into a shocking rage in a very inappropriate setting. This was very, very bad however.

doesn't mean it isn't happening on the inside. A person sitting still staring at the wall can be having a meltdown, but by your definition, no one around them would have any way of knowing. I consider her response not only unpresidential, but delusional.
Whether or not it signifies a breakdown is kind of like diagnosing Terry Schiavo by CNN feed on the House floor. We just can't know from this clip.

inappropriate response to an answer that she should have prepped for. It was bound to come up, especially after Mark Penn and Bill had been for the deal. Of course Mark Penn was actually working for it while she oppossed the pact, and Bill has been vocally for it.
And now for something completely different.
---On MSNBC, Bill just said that re: Tuzla, she was tired and it was 11 pm, etc. That's greatly paraphrased, obviously. I'm sure the clip will be shown again, it is morning news.
Well, Bill, it wasn't 11pm! So what's up with that?
---And Hillarys office in Terre Haute has been destroyed by fire.
She is not going to have a good day, but she has my sympathy and good thoughts.

11PM when she arrived in Tuzla? or 11PM when she told the story the first time? ... the second time? ...
