of why you form a government you understand that one of the key functions is to take care of citizens.  Protect them from threats from within and without the nation.  So we pay our taxes to pool our resources so the government we form can take care of us.

Certainly the statistic prove that health care issues kill and impact the quality of life for citizens more than just about any other issue.  Education and jobs being next.  The environment, seeing as how it impacts our health, and can add pleasure, which is a key factor in the quality of life has to be high up there.

But then you look at what we actually pay for with our tax dollars:

How do citizens look at divisions like that and believe our government has our priorities in mind when it goes to spend our money?
