    Bloomberg:

Democrat Barack Obama started this month with about five times more cash than Hillary Clinton for their race for the Democratic presidential nomination, according to figures released by the campaigns.

Obama, an Illinois senator, had $42.5 million available for spending on primary elections and caucuses, his campaign said today. Clinton, a New York senator, had about $8 million, according to her spokesman, Jay Carson.

Still waiting on the F.E.C. report, but if that figure is true, McCain has more cash on hand than Hillary Clinton -- and Obama has more than twice as much as both of them combined.

(And Obama has about $10 million raised that can only be used for the general campaign -- about one-fifth of his total cash on hand.
