In a way, we're at such delicious juncture in our nation's history because racism has become so viscerally disgusting, so closely associated with crackpots, lunatics, and just plain old jerks, that even the vision of Pat Buchannan running in circles screaming racist diatribes on TV is enough to make most civilized folk recoil in disgust.  

And Obama is such a class act that he just shakes that stuff off . . . one of the reasons I'm such a fanboi.  It's hard not to like somebody with class like that.  He makes all those concerns seem so mundane.  Yeah, some people are racist.  Just gotta shake 'em off.
