stories heralding the "death" or "irrelevancy" of the religious right. They're like the villain in an 80's slasher movie who keeps coming back in sequel after sequel. I agree that Wingnutistan is demoralized and perhaps in a general state of disarray at the moment. But they'll be back. This summer, just when you thought it was safe to teach Evolution in public school...

Really nothing last forever, and younger generation is just as religious (if not more so) but w/less hypocrisy.
The definition of insanity is voting the same way and expecting a different result. I'm talking to you FL,OH, KY, WV!

I think the media loves to run stories about the fading sunset of this or that...much easier than examining what's still there.

I kid you not. They f'ing hate Bushco.
No Child Left Behind is exactly the kind of thing they organized to fight against - federal interference in the schools.
And in return they got not a damn bit of movement against abortion or gay marriage.
The more intelligent among them are totally wigged out about the Patriot Act. Because they're sure the next Dem attorney general is gonna put Operation Rescue on the terrorist list.
They probably aren't thrilled that so many top jobs go to secular Jewish hawks and their own people get stuck on lower-level domestic policy.
And let's face it - most of them aren't that rich. They're hurting from the Bush economy as much as anyone. Their sons and daughters are dying in Iraq too. They might not be getting all socialist or peacenik, but they are getting fed up.
I know who Obama's veep will be. You can too!
