A bowl of Trifle and some lemon curd tarts are on the menu. Along with Maypole ribbons and a bunch of Renaissance madrigals about May Day.
But I'm thinking about ways to reconnect people to the cycles of Earth and the regrowth of Spring. That's the best way to help many understand the impact of global warming.

My daughter insisted that we sing "Hal an Tow" to bring in the May. The chorus is: Hal an Tow, jolly rumble-o We were up, long before the day-o To welcome in the summer, to welcome in the May-o Summer is a-comin' in and Winter's gone away-o
Although it's a bit hard to think that Winter's really "gone away-o" when we had snow flurries here yesterday! (Vermont) But it's a bright morning and we'll be out preparing the ground for her garden this year. Hope your May Day is bright, and warmer than ours!

I write a blog about music -- would you mind posting a few titles of the madrigals you have in mind? I'll do a search, meanwhile... and do you mind if I link this diary in a blog post?
