Nor should they. You wouldn't give David Vitter or Larry Craig the same protections. Her psychological make up is dependent upon her experiences. People that have live through trauma, such as a cheating husband or a failed marriage, exhibit some of the same psychological traits she does. t is definitely something that should be taken into consideration when selecting a POTUS. Bush had lime disease. Lime disease affects your mental capabilities thereby effecting judgement. All these things are very similar.

Yes, I would give Larry Craig the same protection. Secondly, I was mocking the diarist for saying he/she "doesn't care" about the Clinton marriage and yet writes about it.

if he weren't such an adamant proponent of anti-gay legislation. I understand that you are mocking the diarist, but I think you misunderstood the diarist. No one cares about a politicians marriage, a private affair, until it bleeds over into the public realm, where it becomes our concern. That was my interpretation of the diary. I could be wrong.
But the Monica Lewinsky issue should not be off limits anyway because of the way Hillary Clinton herself alludes to it as shaping her character and making her stronger. Every time she says things like "Everyone knows I've lead a hard life, blah, blah, blah..." So she's allowed to talk about it positively, but we can't criticize her actions and the apparent hypocrisy of her recent actions in comparison. It's akin to her claiming all the good in the Clinton WH while disassociating herself from all the bad.

I knew it was a toxic subject but this is exactly what I was trying to say.
No one cares about a politicians marriage, a private affair, until it bleeds over into the public realm, where it becomes our concern.
Many nuggets of "conventional wisdom" aren't necessarily wise.

But it will only garner more support for HRC.

Especially in context compared to what she has said about Rev Wright. The victim has become the victimizer. People stop having sympathy for you when you cross that line.

You have your own perception about this and I suspect that you are not alone. I must have rewritten this diary a dozen times to balance it toward state of mind and response/reaction to circumstances and situations. You however are welcome to keep talking as if i was opening a conversation about THAT particular scandal.
