and prioritize patriotism over proud nationalism.  I love liberty and democracy more than I love America.  If America becomes ruined by a crony authoritarian who tortures and invades and distracts and occludes (oh... wait) I will still love America, but not think it is as great as pure democracy, human freedom.

Nor should any Christian, or any American, or any purple or fuzzy human being.  Because it doesn't make any damned sense.

I would never want to live anywhere else because I love my country, but bury my head in the sand when another country beats us at something--I won't.

We are another country--a great country, with a proud history and honorable traditions--but still only a mortal country, deeply flawed and bitterly created and bitterly governed.
