all military pay earned in a combat zone is tax exempt? Unless a soldier has additional income from a source outside of a combat zone, he/she wouldn't meet the minimum income threshold prescribed in the law passed by Congress. The law made exceptions for those receiving tax-exempt VA disability payments, but I haven't heard anything about an exemption for combat-zone military personnel. BTW people, the Bush administration can't be blamed for everything! Let's blame them for the many problems they created, not everything under the sun.
