in Dallas. We just got back from a trip up there. I wish someone would give me a giant pile of money so I could move asap. I LOVE IT THERE!!! We stayed in Brooklyn this year, and fell in love with the area we were in. What amazing turnout - way to go, NYC!!! Thank you from Obama Dallas!!!

I am cohosting an event for Diane Benson of Alaska on June 11th - I hope (casperr?) we can schedule a meetup in NYC on any OTHER day than that ... just a tiny heads-up altho I know you are super-busy right now ...
I don't want to distract from this thread but if anyone wants to know about Diane, here's her link ... she's the only Native Alaskan running against super-corrupt "Bridge-to-Nowhere" Don Young in Alaska. And I happen to know, I believe, who she supports! :)

... and then also have a meet up. BSRH jr. will be visiting from China and if she can come to the event, she will be thrilled to be part of the democracy and constitution that I promised I'd protect when she left three years ago.
I also promised the kiddo that her beloved BOSox wld win a second world series, so I seem to have a good record as a promise keeper.
Somewhere on this site is the story of how she got our town to fedex her a ballot and then got the American Embassy to put it in the diplomatic bag so that her vote wld count for MA delegates for BO rather than the 1/2 delegate of Americans abroad.

I don't have a personal one posted here at dKos, but I'm on casperr's nyc list.
I would love for you to come (it's a fundraiser, but we're flexible).

In my part of the BlueState, our little town spent very big bucks at my fervent request to send an absentee ballot FedEX to a family member in a very distant country so that the junior BSRH could vote in the primary. Junior BSRH then went all the way across the very congested city to return it by US embassy mail. Don’t know how that was managed, but I got a kick out of the fact that the State Department went the extra mile for a town that went the extra 8 000 miles to allow a Registered Dem to vote in a state that went overwhelming for Kerry. There’s more. Junior BSRH then wrote a thank you email to town and Mom for teaching her what a democracy can do.

maybe we should aim to have a meetup the second week of June. I'll try to put together a diary soon asking people what days work for them.

can't explain that well except seeing the older people in line along with the young. The gray hair. I know seniors are the most dependable voters but this is more than that. They knew there would be a crowd of young people, that didn't stop them from coming out and waiting in line to sign out to get out and sign people up, to be active in the process, to be part of it. I love them.
And thanks

As I was scrolling down the pictures my eyes filled up with tears and next thing I knew they were just flowing.
Look at all those wonderful people who love this country and are willing to do what they can to get her back to where she should be.
This gives me such hope!
