Before condemning US long term support for Israel, I recommend you visit the Holocaust Museum in Washington DC. Also remember that Jewish people have been denigrated for many years in the US and in some cases still are.
US support for Israel can come in many forms including support for Palestinians and changing the way Israel supports West Bank settlements; deal with Gaza; . . .
These are difficult issues that are not explored by the MSM. Only rocket attacks / responses get coverage.
Practice tolerance, kindness and charity.

is NOT an excuse for Israel to engage in its own ethnic cleansing against a group that had absolutely nothing to do with what happened in Europe. And, btw, while anti-Semitism was quite strong in the US in the 1930s it is a negligable phenomenon since WWII...all polling data shows this. When Lieberman ran as VP it has no effect on support for Gore. If anti-Semitism was rife his numbers would have gone down. Stop living in the past.

the refusal of most of the world to provide safe haven for people who were either religious or ethnic Jews is a good reason to create a Jewish state. Short of Antarctica there are very few unoccupied lands from which to create such a state. At the time Israel was formed Palestinians were fighting Jews and lost. Many evacuated of their own free will expecting a victory to come at a later time. Others were pushed out by Israelis or were encouraged by Israelis to leave.
The problem now is still complicated. The USA can help untangle some of the problems. Amongst other things Israel and Palestine need to work out arrangements to work together and yet be two separate states.
