Let me explain.
First, Obama is our nominee. Even Hillary doesn't seem to be contesting it that much anymore; I'm fairly convinced by those analyses that say she's staying in to the end at this point just for dignity. After June 3, maybe even after May 20, when Obama clearly has enough votes to prevail at the Convention, I expect her to concede gracefully.
And to work her ass off for the ticket, whoever is on it.
Like you, I think we win in November. In fact, just looking at their public comments over the past couple days I think it's going to be a blowout. Even if doesn't reach Reagan-Mondale or Nixon-McGovern proportions (and it might), our guy is going to win by so many votes it isn't even funny.
Now, where does that leave those racist twerps in KY? In the dustbin of history, where they're going to have to figure out which side they're in.
The bard told us many years ago. Now more than ever, his words are true.

I share your and Elise's optimism. But that makes the current moment all the more available for addressing these matters directly, without fear.

Yes, it is going to be a blowout if we do our bit.
And, it will be a blowout and Obama will NOT get 50% of the white vote.
We white Democrats are a minority of our race: the majority of white people vote Republican and have done so since 1948!
