I'm not too proud of starting off with the "high horse" comment after seeing that I hurt some feelings with it. We all do the best we can, and we keep plodding along. As long as our change is a net positive, we can all be happy.

Kossacks are like racehorses. We're high-strung and we are pretty sure we are absolutely right. A huge forum like this takes on a life and attitude of its own, and a lot of people are here more for comfort that for the ideas. I wrote a diary where I mentioned a heavy metal rock band in a negative light. I got a hot reply from one of their fans who thought I was dissing his experience of that band.
Sheesh! It was a metaphor.....
High Horse is a perfectly good phrase! My Grandmother used it all the time. And, there are a lot of people here on a very high horse, but that's the price we pay for political passion!
