But it's interesting that most of the replies have been about Obama vs. Hillary. Who I support or don't support has absolutely zero to do with my feelings that we should not engage in stereotypes about voters or residents of West Virginia, or any state.
I mean, a drunken hillbilly? Do we really want to endorse that broad brush hit on West Virginians? Flip the tables. Imagine if when Obama had won Alabama, and someone posted race-based caricatures of Alabama residents? Everyone - including me - would be furious, appropriately.
Not sure why it's okay to have cultural or regional stereotypes, and if I don't get it then I just need a sense of humor, but racial stereotypes are taboo. All should be taboo or at least discouraged.
It is a free forum, for better or worse. But that means I'm also free to criticize certain posts.
I appreciate your sentiments and respect your take on this.
