    •  It's a unique situation (0+ / 0-)

      see my post below.

      •  That's rationalization (0+ / 0-)

something we're really good at as humans, and something we should very much resist in this case. Just because a  person can do a thing, that doesn't mean a person should do a thing.

I want to die like my grandfather, peacefully in my sleep, not screaming in terror like his passengers.

        •  No, it's not (5+ / 0-)

I live in Prince Georges County. Jack Johnson (the pledged delegate in question) is my County Executive. It's unlikely there is any other county in the nation that has the size and breadth of support for one of the candidate's in this race that Princes Georges does, that has a County Executive or Mayor supporting the opposing candidate.

Prince Georges delivered a 70,000+ vote margin for Obama on election day, accounting for about 40% of Obama's statewide margin of victory in Maryland.

Up until December, Jack Johnson had been allowing his name to be listed on lists of Obama supporters. His was hardly the type of firm support that should have been chosen as one of Clinton's pledged delegates.

So, don't patronize me and say I'm "rationalizing." I'm not some bloke living in Arizona commenting on this. I live here. I know Jack Johnson. It's not a big shocker.

      •  It's only unique because it's a pain for him (0+ / 0-)

That's not enough of a reason.
