This is a huge issue.
"Not only is he 100% pro-choice, he's 100% honest."
What a dynamite endorsement. Everyone who cares about the, uh, whatyacallit?, ISSUES in this election needs to hear Lorna Brett Howard's words. What a great spokesperson.
McCain is not getting my state. Is he getting yours?

How about the cute kitty pics with mispelled captions? That get your goat too?

I assure you others do, and it does Obama no service to use it in this piece. The question isn't whether I'M offended. The question is whether it is offensive. It is.
by Finck II on Wed May 14, 2008 at 02:19:01 PM PDT
that someone else used a term that's offensive? How is it again that he's responsible and should face consequences for the words/deeds of other people not named Malia and Sasha Obama?

as a man I didn't give it a thought, but I see what you mean. I wonder if the diarist was maybe as dense as me or did it on purpose to make some point. Thanks for pointing it out.

for overtly sexist comments. However, when faced with responses like this it's difficult to see how Clinton's own supporters aren't reinforcing the worst sexist stereotype of women. These actions are vindictive, irrational, below the belt, and filled with double standards. They're just plain ugly and do not reflect well on so-called feminists. What we're witnessing here are the limits of identity politics. I say this as someone who has fought ardently for feminism myself.

Not just so-called "catfights."
by notksanymore on Wed May 14, 2008 at 01:57:16 PM PDT
What you and your family do or don't do has nothing to do with whether "Meow" in this particular context is sexist. It is, in that the author trivializes a serious poltical discussion among women as a "cat fight." As an Obama supporter myself, I think this does nothing for our side but harm.

Fortunately, Obama conducts himself in a such a classy way that it is clear to all that the nastiest of his supporters at DKos do NOT represent his thinking.

I usually don't get too worried about these kinds of things, but it does detract from the message here.

By the way, I apoplize for somehow giving you the entirely false impression that I care whether or not you take me seriously.
by Finck II on Wed May 14, 2008 at 03:07:52 PM PDT
A combination of apopleptic and apologize? A very appropriate construction. And it's not whether I take you seriously that should concern you or your doctor, but how seriously you must take yourself that must require regular check ups. :)

Those Hillary supporters are tearing up the board. I recommend that people tell them how you feel. It is a courageous move by NARAL. whew.

I already donated (today) but encouraging Obama supporters to donate to NARAL today on your diary would be appreciated.
