Let's make it happen. We need to push McCain on this.
Let's vote for Barack Obama.

This only gives more cred to Obama's argument that McCain is running for Bush's third term.
Also, have you seen the Huffington Post lately? It's great! Not only does it show Obama being strong against the GOP, but it ties Bush to McCain. It should be Obama v. McCain, but instead it's Obama v. Bush. Bush= McCain. McCain= Bush's third term which = Obama Presidency!

The response from our elected officials has been entirely appropriate.
TalkLeft and MyDD are still, for the most part, working to undermine the Democratic chances in the GE. We need to make sure that Pelosi and others know that there are individuals out here that support their efforts.
Very well done and it certainly confirms that the GOP considers Obama the 'man' for November.

President Bush’s comparison of any Democrat to Nazi appeasers is both offensive and outrageous on the face of it, especially in light of his failures in foreign policy. This is the kind of statement that has no place in any presidential address and certainly to use an important moment like the 60th anniversary celebration of Israel to make a political point seems terribly misplaced. Unfortunately, this is what we’ve come to expect from President Bush.

This is typical Clinton triangulation. It avoids defending Obama in any way, but simply says that Hillary doesn't like to see Democrats called "appeasers".
This way Hillary dodged the issue, but didn't defend Obama.

I'll never forget a story that CBS had of Pa being a shadowy figure in the whole Iran-Contra debacle. There was footage of him at a bunch of meetings in which he was literally stepping back into the shadows. But, I'm sure it's just a coincidence that we heard news of the hostages's release during St. Ronnie's inauguration.

Bushco. has gotten a free ride and the acquiesence of the press and the Democratic Congress. Reid, Obama, Clinton, Leahy, et al have shown little reluctance for years to stand up to this dangerous bully. Now that he's on his way out, suddenly our erstwhile weak-kneed Dems are growing a spine?
If their rhetoric isn't so much more hot air, we'd have impeachment procedings by the end of this week.
Despite the mostly empty-headed glee over Mr. Obama on this site, I will not be surprised at a president-elect McCain this fall.
by modestybl on Thu May 15, 2008 at 01:05:12 PM PDT
but I FUCKING LOVE Joe Biden sometimes!!!
He had some great moments in the primaries, I just love seeing him in this role. He cuts thru and tells people how it is...and sometimes a lot of Dems have a problem doing that.
If there's one decent argument for him as VP...this is it. I know, there's plenty of reasons not to...the main being he's an East Coast Dem from Delaware in my book...but I can't say I'd be unhappy with the choice.

Instead of deciding to do their jobs, Clinton and Obama decided they were running for president. As much is made about Obama over Clinton in this forum, "the annointed" has a very inauspicious track record when it comes to opposing the worst folly of this disasterous administration:
"Shortly after entering Congress, for instance, he (Obmama) said he "believed that U.S. forces are still a part of the solution in Iraq." He told the Chicago Tribune in July of 2004, that "There's not much of a difference between my position and George Bush's position at this stage." His voting record since becoming a senator, moreover, has been almost identical to Clinton's."
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/...
Their cowardice on Iraq is mirrored by their cowardice in the Supreme Court appointments, signing statements, FISA law and the entire spectrum of Bushco. lawbreaking.
I'm not optimistic about the Dems chances this fall - but neither would I be optimistic about our country's chances in the hands of any of these Dems..

It was just a few short months ago that Rush Limbaugh quietly whispered on his radio show that the Iraq war was really about Iran. And look what has happened since then. Bombing Iran has become daily discussion.
Look how easily we have been lured into a false debate about "bombing Iran". Should Obama even be talking about "appeasing" Iran in this context before ever even questioning the validity of the threats to begin with?
