but the reality is that, legally speaking, there is no method of recall, for national offices (at least, if my memory is correct, and I am pretty sure it is).  I think there was an attempt to put in place in some state a recall option for either a Rep or Senator, and ultimately, it went all the way to the Supreme Court, and basically the SC said that the only way for a recall option to be available was through constitutional amendment.  Short of that, only fellow members of Congress can remove a sitting Rep or Senator
