Capito faces a great Democratic challenger, Anne Barth in WV-02.
Anne Barth for Congress.
More on Barth here.

Natalie Tennant's win also was interesting. Joe DeLong outspent her six to one.

He seemed to me to have been just hurrying her along because of the raucus nature of the protest. Sort of protective in a patronizing way, to be sure; at least it could be taken that way.
The shouting was pretty loud and neocons are paranoid to begin with, so I wouldn't make it out to be any more than that.

It's more like he's calling a dog to heel. Seems like he's really eager to flee the scene and doesn't want her to delay him.

that if McCain were to be confronted on this, he would make a huge deal out of the "crazed protesters making me fear for Shelly's safety, so I was just concerned that she wouldn't be exposed to any violence" or some such bullshit, putting the onus on the protesters, demonizing them. He would also likely make an issue of the left pouncing on "meaningless hand movements because they can't find anything of substance to criticize me about."
I agree that it was an imperious gesture. I just don't think it's a wise move to make an issue out of it. Our ammo dump is quite full and we don't need to be lobbing little Sherry-bombs.

I see where our difference lies. I agree there's plenty more much worse on McCain. My audience is actually West Virginia. Capito has been tagged as a sycophantic follower of Bush, voting however she's been told 100 percent of the time on the Iraq war despite expressing qualms against it.
Now she's latching on to John "Third Bush Term" McCain with the same blind loyalty. She comes when she's called. And both Bush and McCain are going to be dismissive of her because of her own blind loyalty to them.
