where it can be acted upon seems to be quite another thing. Can't be insufficient postage? How egregiously can the Constitution be assaulted before Democratic leaders feel like it's time to stand up and defend it, per their oath of office?
Why are our Democratic Party leaders so damned ineffective in addressing long past-due accountability? A stack of sternly worded letters pinned to the doors of the White House, still ignored and flutter in the wind. The t.reasury we needed to improve health, welfare and education, has been looted for war, destruction, death and propoganda. The justice department has been the center of partisan efforts to destroy a political party. The executive branch spies and tracks any dissenters with DoJ approval...and Congress pulls out another pad of paper and a pen to state an objection or demand an answer.
Since 2006 they got a mandate from the people to seek accountability, to restore our rights and turn back the egregious executive abuses of power, to conduct real investigations, to wield subpoena power, to uncover, report and weigh evidence, to pursue censure, impeachment or criminal procedures. And, as of May, 2008, we have nothing, zero results, zero effective actions, and the administration is acting like they'll just skate away Scott Free. Not one legal trophy to show for 2008 elections. And we're still going to award them more power thinking that's all they need to finally get going against the party of criminal obstructionists.
What does it take to make clear we don't want them negotiating with the enemies of the Constitution but locking these traitors up? Our leaders keep trying to be nicer to GOP criminals than the Dixie Chicks, and they just sang sternly worded songs and made a couple statements. When will our leaders take up The Rule of Law and apply it firmly, with resolute will, unflinching until Justice is served completely?
