I pass through Grand Junction on the way to Las Vegas from time to time and I spent much of the summer last year in Albuquerque. As an Iowa farm boy I can tell you the amount of above ground water going here and there is just amazing compared to your world - the stuff just keeps coming and coming ...

  take Hwy 550 from Grand Junc to Albuquerque. From Ridgeway/Ouray south to the New Mexico border is beautiful beyond words. But once you get to NM, the scenery seems to run out... hehehe

    I was going to work in ABQ 'till I found out my soon to be employer had a screw loose and a lot of legal troubles. I really enjoyed the weeks I had there ... and Idaho Springs is my favorite stop on that trip - a hot bath and a rustic hotel room do wonders to put a long day on the road behind you.
