Most Americans are proud of the greatest nation to have ever existed.  Consequently, they have a problem with a church whose Pastor actively disparages this country, and "damns" it.

I'm a Democrat, and I have a problem with Reverend Wright.  I can assure you that many Independent voters have similar misgivings.

That's why this is an issue.  That's why it's a huge issue.

    •  but at what point does that become (0+ / 0-)

      guilt by association?

Can we reasonably hold Obama responsible for every word in every one of Wright's sermons?

Have any of us even bothered to research Wright's sermons in any more detail than watching a video of his most inflammatory and extreme remarks?

And how many of us have family members who have said downright kooky nutty nasty stuff more than once?

How does it look when one examines the entire body of Wright's sermons?  How does it look when one knows one's kooky family member for a lifetime?

And in an age when we have not just one but two draft-dodgers in the White House, isn't it worth something that Wright himself was a member of the United States Marine Corps who was engaged on the ground in Vietnam...?
