you would like to do more than shake your fist at Stein, I strongly recommend joining the National Center for Science Education. This organization is dedicated to preserving the integrity of science education in the K-12 public school system. And for a small band of committed science educators on a tiny budget facing all the might of the well funded antiscience movement, they have so far been almost miraculously successful. If it’s Sunday, it’s Sunday Kos!

And people like Ben Stein who are bored with to much make complete cunts of themselves on TV.

"Survival of the Fittest" appears everywhere in our society as the basis of Capitalism. Naturally, the right-wingers wouldn't want to go there.

for the beginning of the emergence of a German state from multiple German principalities and mini-states but the anti Semitism and racism is inherent in German history literature and culture, dating back to the first Crusades and before.

That, in a nutshell, is the Sonderweg hypothesis. While it was extremely popular in the immediate aftermath of the war and for a couple of decades thereafter, since it left the blame for the war almost completely off the Allies, no reputable historian acceptis it today.

As I said, no legitimate historian accepts the Sonderweg hypothesis any longer. Racism and anti-Semitism were far from unique to Germany, as has been amply demonstrated over the last 50 years. You might start here for references.

Why do we bother with this total asshole? I can't stand to listen to his arrogant drool voice let alone look at his ugly ass face. He's a disgrace but typical of what passes for a spokesman for the right these days. That he gets taken seriously is interesting in itself. He's a actor not scientist and he's not even a good actor.

Stein is a completely disgusting individual that needs to be put out to pasture.

the American Enterprise Institute yet? Maybe it's too early for hjim. AEI is the retirement home for old soldiers of the neocon persuasion.

He was a speechwriter for Nixon. Make of that what you will.
In other words, he was in politics and such before becoming an occasionally entertaining bit part actor (I mean, come on - "Bueller? Bueller?" - that's great stuff there!).
I always knew he was a bit of a right-wing dipshit, but he always seemed like a somewhat reasonable right-wing dipshit. I've seen him come down hard on the more unreasonable wingnuts in the past. This anti-science tack he's on is totally new to me - maybe he gave away all his money on that show of his, and he needs to promote a low-budget "documentary" into a hit in order to make some back.
