these people are solid Republican...because they still think it's the "Party of Lincoln."
Kleeb should lose the cowboy hat, it doesn't work in Omaha and Lincoln, outside of those two places, cattle outnumber the people.

That's what he did for work while in grad school and after, while he was running for Congress, in fact. If you're a cowboy, you can wear the hat. Nebraskans can tell a real one.

I don't mean to be shallow, but even in CA where we are so well known for being "elitists," I think a picture like that would help a candidate get elected.

can cut into the ultra-Republican farmer/rancher vote, then that would be something. You are probably right that the general will be won in Omaha and Lincoln, but cutting down the negative rural vote margin sure would help.

circuit and not be an asshole.
The candidates the GOP normally runs in Nebraska are arrogant, rich, children of the privileged--I remember one guy named John Christiansen...he wore a shirt made out of the American flag at every campaign stop...that pissed a lot of people off, and he lost.

the wingnuts have taken over the party there, much like everywhere else. And the people they took it over from were pretty conservative. Jon Christensen in particular was a moran for the ages.

He was running for Governor. And bland, inoffensive Mike Johanns won that primary.

That's where the hats were! Baseball hats are popular with ranchers now, as well as farmers.

What works in Omaha and Lincoln is speaking to the issues folks here care about, and knocking on every damn door to get votes.
