there is a solution for you.  Your browser or Firefox and safari at least, have options to allow images in your preferances folder I believe.   Choose the non-images option or text only and you will have a much better viewing experience.

But this is a fast moving , not even realy high tech communication medium.

Hope you can upgrade soon.  I went in debt to get a macbook and dude.... it's a whole new world!!
