i posed a question at one of those sites asking what they intend to do when hillary drops out.... the refrain i received often was
Derail Obama
and we're supposed to be nice to them?
by Steven R on Wed May 07, 2008 at 03:00:17 PM PDT
We should be nice to Democrats and anyone (including Republicans) not so twisted by hate that they might actually vote for the candidate who is trying to do the right things for the country.
The unrepentant, unsaveable haters do need to be isolated but for the most part, they do that themselves.

Hillaryis44, So I went there today. I read the posts and was shocked these people were actual democrats. One talked about african americans taking over the country and white people need to stand up. They were talking about becoming republicans. It was shocking stuff to say the least. Painting Obama as "evil".
I agree Ms Marsh needs some form of a mea culpa. When your peddling the Obama gave Hillary the finger story and photo when he was scratching his face, well then I got still got problems. Hard ball politics is one thing, disingenous sliming is a different thing.

there was some connection to the Clinton campaign even if they wanted to keep it deniable:
There's no public record linking Rodriguez to Clinton's campaign, and he's not part of her New York political universe....However, there's some suggestion that some close to the campaign were at least aware of his existence. When I learned of his identity, I emailed Tracy Sefl, a Clinton consultant who is perhaps best known as the campaign's liaison to Drudge, and whom reporters and insiders have long speculated -- without evidence -- was behind the site. She was amused to learn that I'd finally linked someone to the site. "I know very little about this. But I have been tremendously flattered by your opinion of my Web skills and assumptions about my free time," she emailed. But she did seem, at least, to know Rodriguez's name. I'd asked her if she knew "Alex." She then made a joke about the Yankee third baseman, also named Alex Rodriguez. But I hadn't supplied the full name of subject of my story, so I asked how she knew his last name. "I don't know him. I just heard his name somewhere," she said, denying again any role in the site. "I haven't sent this person anything, ever."

You'll be hearing this a lot in coming days. The true delegate number and the one Barack Obama must surpass is 2209, not 2025. Litigator Mom over at The Confluence explains, beginning with the correct calculation:
So much for that popular vote argument, let's hammer home a new delegate number. Yeah, that's the ticket. 2209.
Jeralyn apparently thinks she heads the DNC and gets to decide what the delegate numbers are. She's on a collision course with reality and it's not gonna be pretty when she hits the wall.

# Universal Says: May 7th, 2008 at 2:37 am I have no idea why anyone would feel ‘defeated’ tonight. But then again I don’t pay much attention to the media. Hillary won the ‘tiebreaker,’ even with fraud being attempted. Barack has lost ground in the southern Black Belt states, as a quick glance at his South Carolina vs North Carolina results can easily see. Basically, his margin of victory, percentage-wise, was halved in a state whose white population is FAR more favorable to him demographically than is South Carolina. Barack is a damaged, fading candidate. Nothing that happened tonight countered that notion, it only confirmed it. He is wobbling toward the finish line and will not enjoy another victory like North Carolina from this point forward until he loses his bid for the nomination. Tonight was his ‘zenith,’ and it came complete with a loss in his backyard in Indiana. This isn’t spin, this is the truth. Barack has been on a downhill trajectory ever since February and once Wright hit. North Carolina should NEVER have been in doubt yet it was. He got 90+% of the black vote in a state which will be going GOP in November. 90% is a large number, until you consider that 90% of 11% of the national electorate isn’t going to win you jack. Especially when the other 89% has been called racists and is mad as hell about it. Barack Obama has NO chance in November. None. He will suffer a huge — gigantic — electoral loss if he is nominated. Any objective analysis can see the trends heading that way. Unfortunately, the media and the "afraid to incur the wrath of the ‘attempt to intimidate people by calling them racists’ crew" Dem "leadership" isn’t living in reality. They are deluded, and if they choose Barack, they will be looking for work in early November. This is the reality of the situation, and the ‘comeback’ story in NC won’t change that. The only thing that matters right now is helping Hillary raise money. Her victory tonight in IN means, in my opinion, that we’re heading for Denver. Now it’s time to help her have the $$$ she needs to make OR competitive and run up big wins in WV, KY and PR. Everything else will work itself out. Paul F. Villarreal

first time. I found it quite an eye opener. Here are a few notable posts, in no particular order:
"Hillary’s victory was accomplished in the face of a fierce fight put forth by Obama’s strongest supporter - Big Media." posted in Hillary, Obama, Scum by Staff
Big Media, Obama's strongest supporter?
"The Hate Hillary Big Media misogyny campaign is unprecedented and unparalleled.
And the fact is, the media’s get-out-now push is unparalleled. Strong second-place candidates such as Ronald Reagan (1976), Ted Kennedy, Gary Hart, Jesse Jackson, and Jerry Brown, all of whom campaigned through the entire primary season, and most of whom took their fights all the way to their party’s nominating conventions, were never tagged by the press and told to go home.
Clinton is being held to a different standard than virtually any other candidate in history," wrote Steven Stark in the Boston Phoenix. "When Clinton is simply doing what everyone else has always done, she’s constantly attacked as an obsessed and crazed egomaniac, bent on self-aggrandizement at the expense of her party." Posted in Hillary, Scum, by Staff
I guess Clinton's second place message providing license to remain in the race is that she is the better candidate. Fair enough, but does she have a clear strategy for attaining the nomination? If not, what is her point?
Clinton is simply doing what everyone else has done...? I don't recall a tradition of Democratic candidates virtually endorsing Republican candidates (or for that matter a Republican candidates endorsing Democrats), although the campaign of 1800 may be a rare instruction.
Hillaryis44 certainly provides an alternate take on the campaign. It's probably unwise to ignore the perceptions and opinions displayed there, different from ours though they may be, as they may be real.

First the obligatory gay-bashing...
rickroberts Says: May 6th, 2008 at 7:51 pm Those nancy boys at MSNBC are creaming all over themselves over NC and totally ignoring IN. I don’t care how impassioned a plea Hillary might put out to unite behind Bambi, I will never do it in a million years. Never.

and then there's the belief that African Americans should just put up with Clinton's race baiting and vote for her anyway...
dot48 Says: May 6th, 2008 at 7:58 pm Well I feel a bit cheated about North Carolina. I got the feel...we’d be quite close...the AA came out for him though and if nothing else they stick for their own. If whites had done that for Hillary .. she’d been able to cream him

THIS IS RIDICULOUS THAT THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY IS BEING HELD HOSTAGE BY THE AA IN THIS COUNTRY WITH THREATS OF RIOTING AT THE CONVENTION... BHO IS A DANGEROUS ANTI-AMERICAN WITH TERRORIST TIES, INEXPERIENCED, POOR SENATE RECORD. THAT’S IT. WE HAVE TO PUT IT OUT THERE BIG TIME THAT WE WHITES WILL NOT IN ANY WAY SUPPORT HIM AND MAKE OUR CASE ... IT’S BEYOND RACE - IT’S TERRORISM AND ANTI-AMERICANISM, AND WE’RE TIRED OF THE WELL-HEELED LATTE’S AND NATION OF ISLAM-TYPES HIJACKING OUR PARTY.

hallow Says: May 6th, 2008 at 8:03 pm dot48 - Please calm down. The great thing about America is that we can choose whom we vote for. I am glad all white people don’t vote together (if they did, it would probably be all for McCain!).

The Hillary speech thread had 24 comments when I visited, and the speech was over. Most of the comments were from people citing how bad it was, and how deluded she sounded. Almost like a sampler from the Daily Kos site.
Wonder where the Hillariacs all went?
Hanoi didn't break John McCain, but Washington did.

I looked in over there too. Felt like I was at a teenage slumber party with a bunch of girls who all got dumped by their boyfriends. But even that could not top the slimefest over at Larry Johnson's garbage pit where one of the blogs is actually titled, "I Call a Spade a Spade."

how the polling results stop after April 15th. Was Tax Day that traumatic for Hillaryis44 to keep updating polls favorable to Clinton?
Or was it just that there aren't many polls that do?
But don't forget that most men without property would rather protect the possibility of becoming rich, than face the reality of being poor. (1776)
