we had a big battle between the old gaurd and the new gaurd here in texas at our state convention in 06.  the blatant homophobia and racism i witnessed from fellow dems with my own eyes and ears was disgusting.  they used whisper campaigns to tank our best candidate for state chair (who is gay).  the war wages on.  they won in 06.  they're not going to win this year.
