happening. Now, it can also be a slogan, but it's also true as an unavoidable event. Sudden change, on the other hand is a bit rarer bird, but I suspect Obama's assumption on this count is spot on-- look at the accumulating crises our country must face:
an intractable war(s) economic recession/depression dollar depreciation peak oil global warming the rise of China and India the rise of the Southern hemisphere
None of these are simple problems, nor do any of them have 'simple' solutions. Practically speaking each of these issues requires their own 'Marshall plan'. Yet, Bush & Company has let each of these problems fester to the point where any one of them could turn poisonous within the next few years (if not sooner).
Given this--which most Americans actually know whether they verbalize it or not--is it any wonder that Obama's call for change is met with a resounding 'yes'?
