rich.
Capitalism will NOT work if workers are paid anything remotely like a fair wage. The collapse of profits is needless.
$6.55 an hour is going to bankrupt most businesses who won't have enough money to operate after the employees are paid and the rich skim the profits.
This country was built on super-cheap foreign labor and if we start paying people actualy money, there will be problems beyond the rich making less money.
All the prices will have to rise again to blot out the gains made by the poor. The poor are to stay poor. Capitalism needs lots of poor people to keep wages down as much as possible.
I just can't believe this is happening.
Surely this will cost Obama the election as surely as impeachment.
[/snark, of course]

But any CEO who does not investigate outsourcing, automating or eliminating jobs that now cost money that could be used instead to pay dividends is going to find himself investigated by the SEC or on the business end of a shareholder lawsuit.

with Malaysia and China. You think a minimimum wage increase will make the difference? How mimimum wage manufacturing jobs are left to outsource? These jobs are more likely service industry jobs. I don't think even a Shaolin could flip a burger over the Pacific?
