There's always some blogger who is the one whom "really gets it" and "we just don't understand the process." Actually I do.

It's amazing how bloggers don't realize what monstrosities have been passed without 60 votes on the point of orders which BTW can only be objected to if the Senate parliamentarian says they break the Byrd rule and HCR as a whole is designed for lowering the deficit, so hence forth it was designed for reconciliation in the first place.

Any denial of this is only made with creative interpretation of the Byrd rule like Nate's creative interpretation of what makes a progressive and history in order to not let the perfect be the enemy of the horrible even though we conceded the perfect before this began.

Also we're leaving enforcement of regulations up to the states anyway and these are state based exchanges in the Senate bill, not one national exchange.

I find it hilarious that there is no mention that the Bush tax cuts are a bigger driver of the deficit than any of the HCR bills thus breaking the Byrd rule. I would like to think Nate knows this, but he clearly doesn't, he says they were "popular."

It's still possible to split the bill and regulations could be passed at the state level until later, but with no publci otpion tyou can forget about anything to build on later and you can expect more excuses for Nate and the let's pass anything crowd and the let's ignore other countries crowd like 16% GDP instead of an average of about 9% GDP. No insurance shill bloggers(not including Nate, he is an end justifies the shitty blogger) can explain those numbers away or rescission.
