scoop up all the new code and paste it at the bottom of an old diary and hit publish.  If the code is f'd up I can work on without stress of a deadline.  I use your process of adding one block of code at at time to see what is causing the code errors.  The commment above about embed skitches is usually the problem.

Once it publishes successfully in the old diary I scoop up that corrected code and paste it in my new diary and hit publish when I want to.

Saves the horror of wanting to publish and being surprised with all the error messages.

I have to go back into old diary and hit publish there too after the test code is gone so the old diary goes back to its original state.

    HOpe this makes sense.

Thanks, navajo; I will definitely try that tonight.

Now - how old a diary can I use? In other words, can I edit any old diary, or only those published within a certain time?

Paving the road to Hell is not my idea of an infrastructure project.

So I am using one from this past June that I don't think people will be popping into.  It looks like hell now but hey, nobody cares.

I've tried to change titles on old ones and it won't let me. fyi.

I don't have any specific knowledge about the diary aging rules.

Just throwing stuff against the wall to see what sticks is my process.
