You folks need to put the PC stuff aside and deal with reality. Getting full broadband service to rural clients is a regulatory nightmare even off the res. On the res, forget about it. Not only do you have to deal with the regular federal authorities, but you have to get approvals from archeologists, cultural shamans, tribal councils, geologists and just about every single stakeholder imaginable just to dig a trench down a road. Then, placing the equipment requires even more permits and negotiations. Should you put the cabinet on this corner or that corner? Well, try negotiating that little decision for about one cabinet per 10 to 50 homes all over the reservation. Its a nightmare. I realize that this disturbs you and makes you reconsider your perceived reality bias towards Native Americans but I am talking about the business of telephony. I do this for a living folks.

    •  no, I work with you fools every day (10+ / 0-)

I have no "bias" real or percieved about native people, I am native and I live on the Rosebud reservation where I deal with prejudiced whitemen every day. I knew and recognized your type as soon as I saw your first ignorant post. You're the typical dummy who knows just enough about my people to be deeply prejudiced and that ignorance makes it easy for you to point fingers at those who suffer under some of the problems you correctly cite yourself.

The above quote from you confirms what I said, not that native people are to blame for the overweening "Great White Father" mess that afflicts our nations. Your problem is that you seek to blame my people for what your government has wrought upon our lands from poverty to breauracracy. Just as I knew you worked for a telephone company I also know you're just as wrong as them.

... your success rate is zero. Your post screams entitlement.

Damn you and your faint praise!
