THAT was fun! Went away for a couple of hours to church and find out I've become a troll after several years on DKOS and lost my trusted user status! Plus, I seem to be a guy. Not sure how that happened.

    1. I'm sorry I kicked the Holy Grail. Seriously, I love Fitz as much as the next Kossack, and I think he's brilliant.
    1. I wish we could have a serious discussion of the circumstances without starting a flame war.  I actually think there are some seriously positive aspects to the story for those who oppose this administration, but I'm not even going to say anything else, because I'll just get troll-rated again, although I'm not sure why it matters now since I've already lost my trusted user status. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow.
    1.  I do take full responsibility for not being clear in my writing such that everybody thought I was disrespecting Fitz and trolling.
    1. I'm sorry I cut and run, but I had plans. I guess I shouldn't have posted at a time when I knew I had to leave. But hell, with my diary history, usually everyone ignores me so who knew?
    1. Thanks to those who stuck up for me. I appreciate it.  Honestly, it's a little upsetting to me to be so maligned by a community that has meant a lot to me.

you had many come to your defense. Your diary flopped - it happens. Even those saying "troll" were talking about your comments. You'll survive fine.

TU now seems to come and go for me. It'll be back.

As for the pixelated sex change - not much I say about that. Except now we know better.

That may have contributed, although as a newbie I certainly couldn't have gotten you demoted.

I don't know you well enough to judge.  Hell I don't know many people here well enough to judge so I have to go by instincts.

Darlin', you did "read" kinda trollish in the sense that your characterizations of what you were reading from news reports were so antithetical to common, not even liberal, perceptions.

And when I say trollish, apparently people have vast definitions, I specifically mean that your take on things which was very uncommon suggested a very conservative bent similar to the NRO and the very people who rally to Libby and the administration's side.

Don't sweat the loss of trusted user, you can regain that.  Hell, I'm not one and I'm feeling pretty fine.

If nothing else, I did say him or her. VBG

    •  You didn't get troll rated for that (1+ / 2-)

For some reason you are asserting that anything you say on this subject will get you troll rated.

That's not true, nor is there any reason for you to assert that it's so.

And the fact that you would assert such a thing is NOT a good thing for you to do.

That's what people who make troll posts often do, and it doesn't hold water when anyone does it.

You were troll rated for not respecting this forum. You were not troll rated for 'disrespecting Fitz'. It was for disrespecting the truth. You said that he had been spanked by the judge, yet there was no evidence that he had leaked anything, and therefore he could not be spanked by the judge (and no one has yet been spanked by the judge anyway).

Saying that you were willing to compromise, and add "alleged" as a modifier to "press leaks" was NOT a compromise, and did not address the issues people were raising with your comments. Then you repeated that assertion several times.

It was that behavior that gave your comments troll ratings. Failing to address an issue in a fair way, and misleadingly saying that what you did was a compromise, is disrupting this site - it is not furthering the discussion, but in fact hampers the discussion. That's why what you did got you troll ratings.

It does not mean that if you discontinue that behavior that other comments of yours will be troll rated.

SOME people do participate in ratings abuse, as did the poster that troll rated THIS post.

Now, I don't CARE what my rating is.

I care about ratings abuse because I stand up for principles and what is right.

And it's WRONG to troll rate a post like mine.

I addressed the issues raised by the other poster - I was replying to her post, with clear points addressing the issues she raised.

But the poster that troll rated THIS post DID abuse the ratings process.

And it's sad whenever that happens.

Posts should not troll rated for disagreement with the opinions expressed or as retribution. Yet he did.

        ...but not your own facts.

I started reading this diary's comments and then it wasn't about the diary anymore, it was just about you.
I have become somewhat disenchanted with the quick trigger approach of individuals here jumping on people who say or think a little different and calling them trolls. I assume we are all mostly liberal/progressives but no two people can agree on everything. (with the noted exception of my dear oldest friend and me) She got slammed last night for bringing up the illegal immigration issue. Both of us are so torn by the dems and repubs approach that we feel we have no where to turn. If we are against illegal immigration then we are called trolls or worse, racist, by 'our people'. That is so wrong, no one knows what we have been through and to call us names at the drop of the hat is against everything we thought this community stood for.
Justifiably, maybe everyone is just on edge but let's all try to be a little more tolerant and try to respect each other a bit more.
True Troll can easliy be identified, search their comments.
