I don't know...if we're going to have pay to play (and apparently we are because it certainly hasn't gone anywhere for the last 50 years in this state), I'd rather see it benefit the middle/lower classes than benefit banks, bankers, and huge corporations like McDonalds and WalMart (which are anti-union and screw over the environment).

Ideally we would get rid of the whole corrupt lot of them...which is why I voted for Eisendrath in the primary. But without Eisendrath...I've got to just suck it up and vote Rod because Topinka is NOT as pro-choice as she claims to be...her running-mate is a wingnut of the worst sort...and she's got an R after her name. I've never in my life seen an example of a Republican lawmaker who is better than the alternative Dem...

I think the fact that a Repug Governor gives Repugs in 2008 a better shot at making Il. a place Dems have to spend more money and gives a better advantage when it comes to press...well, those two are major reasons to vote against her.

your last paragraph. Illinois went for Clinton (twice) and Gore, all three by comfortable margins, under a Republican governor. I see no reason to believe that having Topinka in the mansion in Springfield is going to make Illinois any less inclined to favor the Democrats in 2008.

      •  Well...I hope you're right... (0+ / 0-)

but we did just get new Diebold machines here in my county...and from what I hear there was lots of trouble up in Chicago as well....

I just hope they aren't planning on using Diebold and a tight election to their advantage.
