    when i was there, acorn provided:
    -n95 respirator masks (you go through at least 2 a day)
    -tyvek suits (you go through at least 1 a day)
    -strong rubber gloves
    -protective goggles

    you also need to have an updated tetanus shot, because you admittedly are exposed to a lot of rusty nails.

    you should bring strong boots, ideally with steel toes and plates.  there's free laundry at camp algiers (the fema camp where we stayed) but some of my t-shirts and my boots, were "donated" to the trash piles in the city afterwards.

    obviously, if you suffer from asthma, or any other type of respiratory ailment, you should look for other ways to help, other than gutting houses
